9. Multi-function cleaning and sanitization robots

Background of Current Process & Challenge Statement

Due to COVID-19 pandemics, enhanced requirements for cleaning and sanitization have greatly challenged our operations on the ground.  Robots are natural choices to augment our cleaning teams.  However, the current functionalities of robots are limited.  They are also big, bulky and expensive to deploy.

There is now strong interest to adopt as sanitization of the floors and walls (using different techniques if required, e.g. able to sanitize using UV and misting); air purification etc.

Requirements

  • Multi-function robots that are capable of basic cleaning functions (vacuum, mop, scrub) as well as enhanced functionality such as sanitization of the floors and walls (using different techniques if required, e.g. able to sanitize using UV and misting); air purification etc.
  • Multi functionalities, e.g. delivery, security surveillance (as many as reasonably possible to prevent idle time of robots).
  • Nimble and not too bulky (must be able to be navigate in the indoor environment of an office building).
  • Detect when surfaces are dirty and alert when to clean again.
  • Easy to deploy and integrate with various systems/apps.
  • Optimal usage of space for docking and charging of robots.
  • Complies with safety standards.
